Public Affairs has provided the following public policy analysis and communications services:
- Provide environmental and transportation planning services for the Gateway Cities Council of Governments, with special emphasis on the requirements of SB 375, a state law that requires greenhouse gas reductions through changes in transportation and land use planning.
- Analyzed the effects on low-income commuters of a proposed congestion reduction demonstration project for high-occupany toll (HOT) lanes, called ExpressLanes, on portions of the I-10 and I-110 freeways in Los Angeles County. The study was done for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority in accordance with the requirements of the authorizing state legislation.
- Assisted the non-profit Friends of Ballona Wetlands in identifying sources of funding to continue their work of protecting the wetlands and educating the public about this unique place.
- Developed a goods movement envisioning workshop for Southern California stakeholders.
- Provided community outreach services during the development of the San Pedro Bay Ports’ Clean Truck Program (for a private client).
- Researched highway toll projects for a private client.
- Analyzed likely paths of industrial real estate development in various states for a private client (as sub to
WCL Consulting).
